In the early 90s, metal doors began to replace the usual wooden doors, at present you will not surprise anyone with their appearance, therefore, when installing them, their reliability comes to the fore. A high-quality door creates reliable protection for the house from fire if it is impossible to open it with a crowbar. The supply market is replete with an assortment of doors, so it is very important to know the rules for their manufacture.
A good entrance metal door should have a total thickness of at least 40 mm with steel hinges. As part of such a door, there must be an internal deadbolt and at least two safe locks – a lever lock and a cylinder lock with anchor pins. A lever lock protects the door from force, code plates (levers) are its main element, and a cylinder lock (the shape of internal mechanisms is cylinders) is an auxiliary one – it is designed for more frequent use, the keys to such locks are made using a laser, which practically eliminates the possibility forgeries. But you can always order a change of locks in the door, if suddenly you are not satisfied with the standard factory option.
To protect against noise and cold, the thickness of the drive must be less than 40 mm, the type of which will differ depending on the desired qualities: from a layer of batting to macroflex (foam rubber, foam plastic and mineral wool are also used, additional lining). For additional protection against foreign odors from the outside, you can lay a rubber gasket around the perimeter of the door.
As for the door frame, it must be welded to metal pins embedded in the wall around the perimeter.
When choosing a door, you should pay attention to the solid front sheet: its welded design will not withstand heavy blows. The thickness of the sheet plays an important role: the larger its value, the more reliable the door, but also more massive. The material of the door is of great importance: alloyed steels must be used in production
In addition to the stiffeners, an additional steel sheet is installed in the door.
Hidden hinges are an additional opportunity to protect housing from sawing off the door (with a small weight, two hinges are enough, and if the weight exceeds 70 kg, then it is better to have 3 or 4 hinges already), and hinges with bearings will extend the life of the door and ensure its smooth running.
Upholstery for the front door can be chosen according to your taste: it can be either artificial leather or powder coating (which protects the door by forming a high-strength film that can neither be scratched nor set on fire).
When the house is protected by a reliable door, then many problems remain behind it.
