A new concept design shows what a very sustainable shopping mall could look like. It has everything – solar panels, geothermal heating and even an enchanting garden.
The architects from Vincent Callebaut stand out with the most incredible eco-urban ideas. They presented the world with concept plans for all possible structures, from villas that generate more energy than they consume, to twisted skyscrapers in the shape of a DNA molecule. And their newest project is the eco-responsible shopping center Wooden Orchids..
Naturally, an eco-friendly shopping center should be completely powered by renewable energy sources. It even collects and recycles rainwater. And on the roof of the shopping center, according to the plans of the architects, it is necessary to plant a huge garden and grow products on it for the farmers’ market, which should also be located in the shopping center.
The interior of the Wooden Orchids is replete with gardens, ponds and natural light..
The concept was developed with the expectation of building in provincial China, but in reality, all this is just a futuristic project, which is unlikely to be implemented. So you can see what it might look like in the pictures, but we don’t expect something like this to be built anytime soon..
